About me

Life can sometimes be difficult. There may be times when we find ourselves experiencing stress, anxiety, panic, or struggling with extremely low moods or bouts of depression.

Do you find yourself struggling with life's difficulties, often feeling isolated and alone, believing that there isn't anyone you can turn to, including work colleagues, friends or family. Maybe past experience has taught you not to trust anyone with your feelings. Or maybe you find yourself believing that no one truly understands what you are going through. Maybe you have a longing to connect with others, yet fear connection, as this often leads to rejection, causing more pain and isolation.

Whatever you are struggling with, I'm here to help.

Experience and research inform us that talking therapies are effective in helping to understand and address the issues that present themselves. Counselling and Psychotherapy helps to explore ideas, develop strategies, increase self-awareness and improve our overall mental well-being.

I will help facilitate this by offering a nurturing therapeutic relationship, with warmth and kindness. I will offer a non-judgmental, safe and confidential space where you can share your experiences, with a sense of feeling heard and understood.

As an Integrative Therapist, I offer a combined approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy, through using a range of counselling techniques which are tailored to your individual needs and personal circumstances. I aim to promote healing of the self through understanding and connecting with the mental, physical and emotional aspects of your life.

I have a keen interest and have had extensive training in the connection between Trauma and the Body. How we hold on to experiences within the body and how understanding and tracking the nervous system can help release us from our past trauma.

Some of the Emotional and Psychological issues I have helped with include:

  • Anxiety
  • Alcohol and Substance Use
  • Body Image
  • Childhood Trauma
  • Depression
  • Disability
  • Eating Disorders
  • Existential
  • Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder

What next?

If you are unsure whether counselling is for you or have any further queries please feel free to get in touch, as I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Or, if you'd like to get started with counselling, please contact me securely and discreetly via email, text or phone to discuss setting up an initial consultation.
Within this first session we'll explore what you're looking to gain from therapy and any questions you may have on how I'm able to support you as your therapist.

Going forward, if there is a mutual feeling that we're able to work together, we'll arrange a second session, with a view to setting up regular meetings (generally on a weekly basis).

Experience

I am an experienced professional Therapeutic Counsellor and have recently completed a Trauma Counselling course, that has given me insight into helping others understand and manage the impact of trauma upon the mind and body.

Having completed the Trauma Training, I now have a keen interest in understanding the connection between Trauma and the Body. How we hold on to experiences within the body and how understanding and tracking the nervous system can help release us from our past trauma.

As well as my private counselling practice, I have extensive experience working within a counselling agency setting, offering support and guidance with a wide range of mental health issues.

Aside from my counselling practice, I worked for 3 years within a Drugs and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre, helping and supporting individuals with recovery from substance misuse, enabling them to build brighter futures for themselves.
